CD, DVD & Blu-Ray Manufacture

DiskBank offer a comprehensive CD, DVD and Blu-Ray manufacturing service on jobs of 500 or more discs. Although we outsource our disc manufacturing, our close relationships with suppliers enable us to offer you exceptional turnaround times and quality of product.
We ensure that all our suppliers are registered clients with the appropriate intellectual property and standards associations. We also make sure that they use only 100% pure polycarbonate for the production of their discs. As a result we are able to offer you the best possible quality of product.
How does it work?
The process of CD/DVD/Blu-Ray ‘pressing’, ‘replication’ or ‘manufacture’ begins with the creation of a ‘glass master’ from your original master CD, DVD or Blu-Ray. From this glass master a metal ‘stamper’ is then created. The metal stamper is prepared and then fitted into a specialised injection moulding machine. Polycarbonate is then injected and pressed with the microscopic ‘pits’ and ‘lands’ (the basic code for the information contained on your disc). An aluminium based reflective surface is then metallised onto the disc before a second layer of polycarbonate is applied. The disc is then ready for printing.
Disc Surface Printing Options
There are two printing options to consider when initially designing the artwork for your CD face; offset and screen printing. Both have their advantages, however, your choice of format should be based on the level of detail in your design, colour configuration and whether your artwork contains images, graphics or small text. Should I Manufacture or Duplicate?
Manufactured discs are most suitable when working to more relaxed timeframes and require quantities of 500 discs or more. The main advantage that manufacturing has over duplication is that the cost per unit is significantly lower.
