Super 8, 8mm & 16mm Film Transfer Pricing

Don't settle for second best when it comes to transferring your precious Super8, 8mm & 16mm films. Our ultimate frame-by-frame capture process utilizes the latest technology to capture each individual frame of your film one by one and deliver a truly breathtaking result. Your priceless films have never looked so good!

We offer film transfers in both Standard Definition (SD) and High Definition (HD) for 8mm and Super 8. The decision is yours and should be made based on your budget, the value you place on video quality and the likelihood of having access to HD equipment (high definition screen and Blu-Ray player) in the future.

Our prices for frame by frame file scanning and restoration are as follows:

Standard Definition (SD) Frame by Frame:

35c per foot, which includes film cleaning and repairs, editing of unusable footage, colour correction and output to DVD. This price applies to 8mm, Super 8 and 16mm film.

High Definition (HD) Frame by Frame:

55c per foot, which includes film cleaning and repairs, editing of unusable footage, colour correction and output to Blu-Ray (BD). This price applies to 8mm, Super 8 and 16mm.

Please note, there is a minimum charge of $100 for all our SD film transfers / $180 for HD film transfers.

If you need more copies of the final discs, these are available at $10 each for DVD and $30 for BD.

Files suitable for editing

With many user friendly video editing packages now available at all budget levels, custom editing your video footage is now easier than ever. We can provide your unedited video footage as uncompressed .avi files (PC) or .mov files (Mac)

Our price for the creation of .avi files is $15 per 20 minutes of footage. For projects less that 60 minutes (approximately 1,000 feet), we can supply on DVD (each DVD holds 20 minutes), otherwise the footage must go to a hard drive. We can supply the HD or you can bring your own.

Output media options

We use quality Verbatim DVD and BD media standard for our film transfers, however we offer the option to ugrade to:

Taiyo Yuden Master DVD for an extra $1.00 per disc

Archival grade (24kt gold reflective layer) DVD with a 100 year plus guarantee for an extra $5.00 per disc.

Output of footage to miniDV tape is available for $25 per hour of footage.

Please note, our Frame by Frame capture clocks the exact length of footage, so you only pay for the actual amount of footage we transfer.

Extras for your final video
