Why capture your footage now?

With most 8mm, Super 8 & 16mm film reaching the age where degradation is starting to set in, we strongly advise you consider capturing your footage to a digital medium sooner rather than later. If your film shows signs of fading, mould, shrinkage or warping it is likely that its deterioration has commenced. The most common sign of advanced stages of deterioration is referred to as "vinegar syndrome", a condition characterised by the vinegar like smell of the film. This common occurance affects acetate based films and results in a gradually increasing break down of the film until it is unusable.
